Staff

Meet the current staff team

★ Manager ★

The leader of our staff team is here to make sure that the website is doing well! They make sure we all get things done together and the website keeps getting new users everyday.

They're also the decision maker in case of conflicts that can't be resolved via votes.

Responsibilities

This could be a good fit if you:

★ Circles manager ★

Supervises and helps the creation and growth of all the websites. Advises but generally doesn't interfere with the managers' decisions.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Keep an eye on all websites Be the decision maker when managers of different websites can't agree Act as a manager for websites that don't have one	You have been a manager of one of the websites for a while (or similar position elsewhere) and you're interested in growing your career with bigger responsabilities

★ Finance manager ★

The finances manager keeps track of our monthly spending and donations, makes sure donators get their rewards, and we have enough funds every month to cover the server and other expenses.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Check new donations monthly Update spreadsheet of accountability Keep track / send rewards to donators Ask the community for donations when needed Find alternatives to donations to cover expenses if needed	Are good at manipulating spreadsheet Like repetitive work that involve precision and accuracy

★ Team manager ★

Knows all the team members and discuss with them on a regular basis to make sure they are all active.

Ensures that the staff team is only composed of active members, keep track of members who are taking a break, regularly check with members if they're still interested, and help members retire if they want to.

They are also in charge of assigning and revoking most permissions.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
know everybody's job in the staff team keep in touch with all the staff members weekly help with lots of different things	have been in the team for a while and befriended all the staff members have a very friendly, communicative profile: you like getting to know people and being close to them like being well organized, enjoy regular plannings

★ Database maintainer ★

We gather all the game data in one convenient place for you~ Some of our team members extract the assets and data directly from the game, some enter missing info manually. We do our best to publish all the game data as soon as it gets published!

↳ Songs

This position checks all the song information for inaccuracy, can find BPM of songs, and are willing to either be able to mine the note count or play the song within a few hours of its release and provide accurate note count.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
play new songs upon release gather statistics on the song, such as difficulty, number of notes, length of song, and BPM	like to play songs are musically inclined want to help out, but not sure how

↳ Regional

These positions are probably the most difficult. You are required to update the community information for events, gacha, card/song availability, and so on related to your particular server (JP/TW/EN/KR). The main staff will be available to lean on if you have questions and so on, however you must be invested and self-motivated to keep the stream of updates constant.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
regularly play your selected version of the game update the community on events, gacha, new songs, or other exciting news!	are extremely interested in the game our website is about speak/write in the server's language are able to keep up with that server's news and update the staff team actively play said server

↳ API

Our database maintainers extract assets and data and automatically update our website. They do their best to publish all the details as soon they are available.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Extract assets and data from the game Use the API to update the website when new data is available on the game Report any issue and ask for features on the API if needed	have reverse-engineered the game and can extract assets and data (or plan to) are able to write scripts/programs that use that data and call a REST API to update the website

follow the game tweet about game news tweet about the website 3 to 10 tweets per day	Are familiar with Twitter basic features Are online all the time Are extremely interested in the game and license Want to promote positive interaction within our community

We're very active on other social media, such as Facebook, reddit and various forums! Our team will take the time to inform the other community about our website news and hopefully get more users from there, as well as valuable feedback to improve the website!

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Post on reddit/facebook/forums about: game news with links to the website community events Reply to posts on reddit/facebook/forums that are unrelated to our website with a link to our website, when it's relevant and can help the original poster	are very active on a relevant sub-reddit, facebook page or forum, have a good reputation there and want to help promote our website, but also help members learn about our website and how it can help them

★ Support ★ (Also known as Social Media Assistant)

Need help with our website or the game? Our support team is here to help you and answer your questions!

This position helps run all avenues of contact. You may be required to interact with random users, or even people you may not particularly like and answer their questions about the site or the game. Patience is key with this role. Scheduling tweets, keeping up with the game and other news is a given.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
reply to messages on Twitter/Facebook/Reddit/Email/etc ready to answer questions about the game and the website	have been a moderator of a community site/forum in the past are resourceful and can find information quickly & accurately use social media, such as Twitter, on a regular basis understand analytics

We want all of our users of all ages to have a pleasant a safe stay in our website. That's why our team of moderators use the website everyday and report anything that might be inappropriate or invalid!

Primarily, your goal is to make sure the community posts are up-to standard as outlined in our Activity ToS. You are tasked with skimming user posts daily, reporting offending posts.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:

↳ Decisive

When something gets reported, our team of decisive moderators will make a decision on whether or not it should be edited or deleted. This 2-steps system ensures that our team makes fair decisions! You have to make decisions precisely and without any bias. You also check account details for falsified information or a member’s verification. You're then sending out applicable warnings to offenders.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
go through reported content and edit or delete said content discuss grey-area conflicts without bias avoid letting favoritism cloud one's judgement	have been a moderator of a community site or a forum in the past can understand rules and their application have common sense and unbiased judgement consider yourself to be fair, understanding, and a good communicator

★ Community entertainer ★

We keep the community active and happy by organizing fun stuff: contests, giveaways, games, etc. We're open to feedback and ideas! You will be expected to curate or host special contests/events to boost engagement. This is technically a sub-role for all community roles (except translation), as it’s the staff team’s responsibility to keep our community active and engaged.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
organize community events such as contests, giveaways, games, etc	are extremeply interested in the game our website is about want to promote positive interaction within our community want our members to have fun!

★ System administrator ★

Our system administrators take care of the infrastructure of our websites, including maintaining the servers, deploying new versions, ensuring that we scale according to traffic and under budget, and overall infrastructure monitoring.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Deploy new versions of the website when developers push updates Use monitoring tools to ensure scaling under a low budget Come up with solutions to optimize or automate processes when relevant	have experience administrating ubuntu servers (or similar), and preferably python/django production environments have been a trusted member of the staff team or community for a while

Our super heroes, magicians and jack-of-all-trades. There's nothing they can't do! We call them to the rescue whenever something needs to get done and they quickly and efficiently help our website and community.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Help with any kind of task in range of competence, long or short Includes manual and repetitive, tricky and exciting work Be able to cover many bases	Want to help, but not sure what to do Available at random hours React fast/pick up on cues with minimal explaination

Contributors

ℹ️ We also work with contributors who are not part of the staff teams. Contributors are shared roles for all our websites.

Contributors roles alone do not make you part of the staff teams, but part of the contributors team.

★ Circles Translator ★

Many people can't understand English very well, so we recruit amazing translators who work hard to translate our websites in many languages.They help hundreds of people access the information we provide easily and comfortably. You can expect to be asked to provide quick and accurate translations when members of our social media teams require so that they may post the news, cards, events, and stamp translations among other things. We do not require literal translations, and a localization approach is not frowned upon either.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
regularly translate in-game news and events (JP/TW/KR) provide translations for the website's database whenever needed in the translator’s language must have a fundamental understanding of their chosen language	are extremely interested in the game our website is about speak/write your chosen language fluently (at least an N4 rating for Japanese required, N3 preferred) online consistently when Events/News come up (8PM-1AM EST)

Our graphic designers help with banners, flyers, or any other graphic edit we need to communicate about the website or organize special events.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
helps with creating banners, flyers, or other forms of visual media when required regularly gives advice and feedback to the work of other Graphic Designers and Artists volunteers to provide services for giveaways and other community events (not a requirement)	love the franchise our website is about have experience with graphic design or other related fields love to draw or edit!

Our artists help with illustrations and drawings we need to communicate about the website or organize special events.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
creates illustrations or drawings when required regularly gives advice and feedback to the work of other Artists and Graphic Designers volunteers to provide services for giveaways and other community events (not a requirement)	love the franchise our website is about have experience drawing, illustrating, or other related skills love to make art!

Our editors write game and license guides to help beginners and advanced fans in their quests.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
write wiki pages about relevant subjects keep wiki pages up-to-date in a timely manner	love the franchise our website is about have a deep knowledge of the game/license and want to share it often finds yourself answering questions are good at breaking down subjects to make them understandable for beginners have good writing skills

Developers contribute to the website by adding new features or fixing bugs, and overall maintaining the website.

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Fix bugs and add features from the bug tracker (optional) Come up with your own ideas of features, suggest them to the staff team and work on them yourself	have experience programming with Python or building websites, or are very eager to learn

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Have experience and knowledge in the fandom(s) you support Have common sense and unbiased judgement Consider yourself to be fair, understanding, and a good communicator Be able to reply quickly when we need your help to judge a contest	Love joining contests and would like to see what everyone makes while being a more active member of the community!

Our donators give us some of their hard earned cash to help pay for the monthly server fees. They are the reason why our websites can be free for all users!

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Donate monthly, periodically, or one time, any amount you are comfortable with	have some extra cash to spare and would like to support the community

Help make the server more organized and clean it up, but also make it more fun!

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
keep the channels SFW, respectful, nice and positive regularly cleanup the server from intruders (non staff / non contributors) create channels, emotes, bots create, regulate, and enforce rules	have been a member of the Circles server for a significant amount of time (as a staff or contributor) have experience with Discord management have some time on your hands and enjoy lurking

Beta testers have access to features before everybody else!

Responsibilities	This could be a good fit if you:
Test new features thoroughly before we release them Report any bug you find and share suggestions	You're good at finding bugs, you like exploring features, you're a hacker, you like trying to break sites or test their limits You have a background in computer security and system reliability You're very familiar with Circles websites or the MagiCircles framework You're good at design and UX
