ALB ADM2 Changes

Albania's ADM2 layer is currently divided into 36 districts. As of 2015 Albania has dissolved the use of districts as a secondary local administrative level and instead has now transitioned to using municipalities. Albania's second-level boundary should reference 61 new municipalities. However, current maps and sources have yet to update themselves to recognize this change, in some cases, the municipalities are still labeled under previous district names.
