Releases: GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/RadeonProRenderMayaPlugin
Weekly Development builds v3.5.24 (11/17/2023)
Fix animation rigged referenced scenes transform issue (#417)
Radeon ProRender for Maya 3.5.1
Radeon ProRender 3.5.1 for Maya, enhances both viewport and final rendering modes:
- RPR Final uses HIP instead of OpenCL.
- RPR Interactive (using Vulkan and hardware ray tracing) now includes RESTIR-based lighting calculations and FSR upsampling for faster interactive viewport rendering.
Plus many more changes. See the changelog for more details.
Radeon ProRender for Maya 3.4.0
- Support for Maya 2023 has been added.
- The RPR Interactive mode has been improved with the following developments:
- Better support for more shader node types;
- Even faster rendering with optimized settings out of the box;
- Hair rendering support;
- More AOVs supported;
- Support for OpenColorIO texture spaces;
- Shadow Catcher support.
- A new Bevel Shader node has been added. This can be used to create small rounded edges on objects. In the physical world, objects rarely have completely sharp edges like polygons. Using this node will enhance the details of artists’ renders.
- Support for the Double Sided node has been added, which allows attaching a different shader to each side of an object mesh.
- A new RPR Ramp node type has been added.
- The “Pixel Filter” (anti-aliasing) setting for RPR Final has been re-enabled.
Radeon ProRender for Maya 3.3.36
Adds:
- New features for changing an objects shadow properties.
- Updated options for fog and atmosphere effects.
- Updated Cryptomatte AOVs
and more!
Radeon ProRender for Maya 3.3.15
This is mainly a bug fix release. For list of fixes see the changelog.
Radeon ProRender for Maya - USD v0.1
This is a new plug-in which takes advantage of the Autodesk USD for Maya plug-in. It uses the Radeon ProRender rendering Delegate for USD (hdRPR) for viewport rendering (final rendering is pending some changes in the Autodesk USD plug-in). Render settings have been added that correspond to the Radeon ProRender settings. It also allows the rendering of USD scenes with MaterialX networks attached to a geometry.
The installation package contains:
- The Pixar USD build;
- Maya to Hydra plug-in from Autodesk;
- Radeon ProRender Hydra Delegate.
To use, install and enable the plug-in. In the viewport select Hydra as the renderer and Radeon ProRender for the render delegate. See more here.
Radeon ProRender for Maya 3.3
New features in this release:
- Support for Fog and Heterogenous Volume rendering has been added to the RPR Full mode. Simulated volumes are now rendered on CPU and GPU.
- An option of exporting DeepEXR files for compositing has been added. DeepEXR files contain multiple depth samples, allowing compositing better with depth.
- Support for the Voronoi Texture node has been added.
For more information on changes see the Release Notes
Radeon ProRender for Maya version 3.2
New features in this release:
- Subsurface Scattering and Volume shaders now work in RPR 2.0. This allows the rendering of organic materials, such as skin, which absorb light into their interior. Volume shaders can now also be used for simple fog boxes.
- Viewport denoising and upscaling improves the interactivity and speed of Viewport rendering. With the use of the Radeon Image Filter Library, this allows Radeon ProRender to render at half resolution faster, and then upscale to the full size of the Viewport.
Deformation motion blur gives accurate motion blur to objects that are being deformed, for example, a flag flapping in the wind or a ball squashing. - The new RPR Toon Shader has been added. This enables cartoon-style shading for a non-photorealistic look. Toon shaders can be used in a “simple” mode for just setting a color or a gradient of different colors for shadow vs lit areas of the object.
- Support for Maya 2022 has been added.
- Mesh export has been optimized for better performance. In general, all scenes should synchronize faster; besides, meshes with per-face material shaders attached have been optimized.
For more information on changes see the Release Notes
Radeon ProRender for Maya version 3.1
New features in this release:
- Support for AMD Radeon™ RX 6700 XT graphics cards has been added.
- Significant new features have been implemented in the AOV and compositing workflow for the plug-in:
- A 16-bit Machine Learning Denoiser option is now available to provide for less memory usage and greater speed.
For more information on changes see the Release Notes
Radeon ProRender for Maya 3.0.7
This release is an update to version 3.0 some changes:
- Added a contour rendering mode for rendering NPR style outlines
- Improved interactivity with Viewport Renders and IPR.
- Some issues with texture compression present in version 3.0.1 are fixed.
- Issues with normal maps (related to texture compression) are also fixed.
- Issues with MASH instances of multiple objects using the MASH id are fixed.
