02 What do Jupyter Notebooks do?

This part of the workshop is about explaining the kind of tasks that Jupyter Notebooks can do, which will feed into the next session of 'Why use notebooks?'

I think this part is about helping people understand when the notebooks might be a good choice for someone, and helping them to work out if Jupyter Notebooks is the best solution for the problem they have. Questions like 'Are you working towards the edge of the capacity of Excel?' or 'Are other packages, eg SPSS or NVIvo not working the way you want them to?' or even just knowing if they have any licenced software available or not are good questions to start with.

This part is hard without having a demo first so it's possible this part of the workshop will have to be moved to a point after a first demonstration of the Notebook, as the participants wouldn't have even seen one at this point.

Still, it's useful to know what they can do, even without seeing it, just to have some context to then put the demo in place.

And remember they do computation not just calculation or visualisation.
