Arduino IDE

NOTE! For programming you will need TWO different version of Arduino IDE!
Visit the Homepage and go to Software → Downloads. Don't use the Windows-Store Version. It doesn't include Python for OTA (Over-the-Air update) and it's not compatible with some feature we will use later.
If there is a newer version released, just scroll down until Previous Releases → previous version of the current release
Now, you need to download two files/software:
Version | Type | Purpose |
---|---|---|
1.8.7 | installer | ESP8266 |
1.6.0 | zip-file | Colorduino |
After Downloading, just install 1.8.7 and accept everything. Don't forget to unzip 1.6.0 in a location you want but not in the same direction of 1.8.7!
If the installation is completed, you can start to test if everything works well.
