Internshala

To limit the spread of Coronavirus, the governments in Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh have announced that schools and colleges in the state and the union territories will remain shut till 31st March or as decided and communicated by respective governments from time to time. To minimize the impact of this on the affected students’ learning, Internshala will be providing free access to its e-learning platform, Internshala Trainings, to the college students in the above mentioned regions till 31st March. The students can learn a number of skills in programming, data science, business, design, creative writing etc. on Internshala Trainings through its short duration online training programs.

Coursera for Campus

Coursera for Campus will be available globally at no cost to any university impacted by COVID-19

How the program works:

  • Access 3,800 courses and 400 Specializations
  • Up to 5,000 licenses for enrolled students at impacted organization
  • Institutions may enroll students in courses through July 31, 2020
  • Students can complete courses through September 30, 2020
  • Month-to-month extensions are available dependent on need
  • Enterprise-level admin tools, analytics, and online support resources
  • Features such as SSO and private authoring may not be included

The social networking website is opening up 16 of its learning courses for free. Courses that provide,

Loom

Video messaging platform Loom announced that it is removing recording limits on its free plan (formerly capped at 25), cutting the price of Loom Pro from $10/month to $5 a month, and extending its free trial of Loom Pro from 14 to 30 days. These offers are valid until July 1.

Additionally, the company announced that Loom Pro is now free in perpetuity for students and teachers who are using Loom for classroom work.

Adobe creative cloud for students

Adobe is making temporary at-home access to Creative Cloud available until May 31, 2020 for schools and colleges who currently have only lab access for students, at no additional cost. To be eligible for this access, your school or college must be a current customer with an active Device, Shared Device License, or Serial Number plan. This at-home access is temporary, and will apply to Adobe ID, Federated ID or Enterprise ID users in your Adobe Admin Console. The temporary licenses may be provided and removed at Adobe’s sole discretion.

  • Only IT Admins can request temporary access for their institution.
  • Each request will be evaluated and eligible organizations will be informed over email when access has been provided.

Online-Hackathon

Coronathon

Join 1000+ other people from India's tech, business and healthcare community and build projects to help minimize COVID-19's impact on India

Format

  • Hackathon will run starting 22 March 2020 (Sunday) and will continue running until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes
  • Teams will get formed online and hackathon will happen virtually. A platform like Slack is needed for people to discuss projects and form teams
  • Each week it’s expected that teams will work on their projects after work time and during weekends
  • There will be a demo day every Sunday evening where finished and work in progress projects will be demonstrated to a group of audience
  • Demo day will be moderated by the hackathon organizing team but anyone is free to join to see projects
  • Enterprise-level admin tools, analytics, and online support resources
  • During the demo day, the organizing team and advisors will help any promising project with financial help or resources or guidance

This four-week hackathon challenges the community to create original GitHub Actions. Actions connect all of the tools in your workflow: You can solve problems, build containers, deploy to any cloud, and more.

How it works:

  • Log in to GitHub to start tinkering around with GitHub Actions (you can also check out this tutorial).
  • At 12:01 am PT on Thursday, March 5, start building Actions for the Hackathon!
