Feature request: Manually add domains to container (ideally with wildcards) #1991

I created a container for Google's services, and I set it to "Limit to Designated Sites." Unfortunately, there are subdomains that Google redirects to momentarily for things like login services. This kicks Firefox into an infinite loop as it keeps switching back and forth between containers. I can see what domain is being accessed, but because the browser doesn't stop there for more than a fraction of a second, I cannot add it to the container's list of domains. The "Manage Site List..." feature lets me delete sites already in a container's list, but it doesn't let me add them.

I'd like a UI that allows me to type in a domain to add to a container's list, so that when things like this happen, I can fix them manually. Better yet, let us use wildcards when we add domains. Being able to add "*.google.com" would go a long way toward addressing my particular issue (I haven't yet discovered this problem on Google services that use other domain names).

  • Multi-Account Containers Version: 7.3.0
  • Operating System + Version: Windows 10 (10.0.18363 Build 18363)
  • Firefox Version: 86.0.1 (x64)
  • Other installed Add-ons + Version + Enabled/Disabled-Status: unrelated/not relevant

Yes, I thought 'blimey only reported a day ago'...
Then I found issues:
#473
#640
#691
#839
#1909
And probably more.
All seem to amount to the same thing - the ability to manually edit 'Always Open This Site In...' function - with wild cards. I don't know where the 'Always Open This Site In...' information is saved, but a simple start might be to save it in a text file in the profile. (Perhaps it's not so simple and even if it is simple, it's too complex for me - thank you for the extension!)

Darn it... I really should've searched for issues to subscribe to before writing up a new one, but I wrote it up on a whim without giving that nearly enough thought. Thanks for linking to the other requests that cover mine!

Closing issue. This is a duplicate of a number of other reported issues that cover some or all aspects of my feature request.
