Google Code-in is an annual contest sponsored by Google, aimed towards 13-17 year olds, to foster in them an interest in developing for the open source community.

Five type of tasks exist for Google Code-in:

2. Documentation/Training
3. Outreach/research
4. Quality assurance
5. User interface

FOSSASIA is the top Free and Open Source technology event in Asia for developers, start-ups, and contributors. Projects at FOSSASIA range from open hardware, to design, graphics and software. FOSSASIA was established in 2009.
