A simple Sidebery CSS file for use with (a specific configuration using) Floorp or a modification of Firefox.
- Install Sidebery from the addon page.
- In Floorp, go to
about:preferences
and locate Design in the navigation. Use the following options:
- Firefox Photon • Lepton UI
- Manage browser elements > Hide Sidebar Headers
- Tab Bar > Optimise browser for Vertical Tab Bar
- Firefox Photon • Lepton UI > Tab Bar > Combine Tab Bar and Toolbar
Optional options that Xan enabled
- Firefox Photon • Lepton UI
- Lepton Settings > Use tweaked Proton design
- Automatically hide browser elements > Automatically hide Sidebar
- Automatically hide browser elements > Automatically hide back button
- Automatically hide browser elements > Automatically hide forward button
- Manage browser elements > Enable Lepton's context menu icons
- Bookmarks Toolbar > Show the Bookmarks Toolbar at the bottom of Floorp
- Navigation Bar > Show the Toolbar at the bottom of Floorp
- Open Sidebery settings and locate Styles editor in the navigation. Paste the contents of sidebery.css into the panel that says "Write custom CSS here..."
- Get a theme, like Catppuccin, Dracula, Gruvbox, Nord, or Tokyo Night. (optional)
- Enjoy your new setup! (optional)
- Due to the width of the tabs, if marks to indicate indentation is enabled, multiple lines may show. This can be fixed by increasing the width of tabs.
- You might want to use a theme, like the Catppuccin Mocha Mauve theme used in this repos images.
- To replicate this setup in a much more limited, but possibly better-integrated fashion (without Sidebery), enable these options instead:
- Design > Tab Bar Style > Vertical Tab Bar
- Collapse Vertical Tab Bar
- Design > Tab Bar Style > Vertical Tab Bar
- The included styles have not been properly tested with Show titles of pinned tabs enabled in Sidebery settings. I might introduce fixes to make this look better, or you could submit a pull request! (Less padding around tabs by default might improve the first item in this list too.)
- to Xan for finally using Floorp after recommending it to another person a year prior
- to @mgastonportillo for their Gale for FF
- to u/captainkaba for his Denkfabrik theme (which was used as a base)
- to Reddit user u/It_Was_The_Other_Guy for his tip
