Description

Note: If merged after Sphinx Multiversioning builds the first versions, the docs website will have no downtime.

deleted all docs
added 404.html file (redirects to master in case a branch isn't chosen)
kept .nojekyll file in its place (it won't be generated each time docs build, just like 404.html)

Update API reference / tutorials / guides
Update CONTRIBUTING.md (if devel workflow is changed)
Update .ignore files, scripts (such as lint), distribution manifest (if files are added/deleted)
Search for references to changed entities in the codebase
