Installing DataBank

kfletch edited this page Mar 22, 2013 · 4 revisions

DataBank is designed to work with the Ubuntu Linux 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot operating system, and the Virtual Machines work with VMWare Fusion 4.x.

You can install DataBank via debian package - please visit http://apt-repo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/databank/ for details.

For instructions to install DataBank directly from source code, use the ReadMe file that comes zipped with the installation files. You can also see this document: https://raw.github.com/dataflow/RDFDatabank/master/docs/Databank_VM_Installation.txt

Note: the name of the silo cannot be changed. Ideally, silo names should be related to the research topic, rather than linked to an individual's name (e.g. "Image Bioinformatics Research Group", rather than "Shotton Research Group".)
