It's impossible for method.getName and field.getName to be different. Simplify the code so people don't think there's some obscure corner case being dealt with.

I spent a while puzzling over this line of code trying to figure out why it existed. After some quality time in the REPL and tracking back through the git history, I'm pretty convinced there's no corner case that I'm just not smart enough to see.
