NOTE: Prior to Feb 2020, connection with the SIM7000 using the Hologram SIM on the Verizon LTE CAT-M network in the US worked, but since then Verizon has stopped allowing devices that are not officially Verizon-certified onto their network.

For those of you who would like to know where the shield is tested to work, check this out! If you get it working and would like to share, please create a post on the Botletics community forum, and I can add it to the list! Also, if you would like to share a project you've done using this shield, please do share to be included in the running list of projects!

In an attempt to provide more detailed info, if you would like to contribute, please copy/paste, fill out, and email the following form to me so I can add it here:

  • Version: SIM7000A/C/E/G?
  • Country: Should be pretty clear
  • Name of SIM card: For example, "Hologram global SIM card"
  • Link to buy it: For example, https://hologram.io/iot-sim-card/
  • SIM card APN: For example, "hologram" or Auto (AT+CAPNMODE=0) and username/password if applicable
  • Connected Network: For example, "Verizon LTE CAT-M1 network, Band 13" or "Vodafone NB-IoT network". Use AT+CPSI? and AT+COPS? to check this.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

SIM7000A Version

  • United States: Works all over the United States with the Hologram SIM card on the AT&T and T-Mobile LTE CAT-M1 network. Also works with the AT&T Trio SIM card as well as the Freedom Pop and Straight Talk SIM cards (see this person who tested them) and the Thingsmobile SIM card. Note: As of July 2020, it seems that AT&T created two IoT plans: North America plan and international plan. Prior to February 2020 connection using the Hologram SIM on the Verizon LTE CAT-M network also worked, but since then they stopped allowing the devices onto their network.
  • Canada: Works on Telus and Bell's LTE CAT-M networks using their CAT-M SIM cards
  • I can't wait to test it on the T-Mobile NB-IoT network which should be launching soon!

SIM7000E Version

  • Australia: Works on Telstra network on B28 CAT-M. Waiting for results for B1 and B3 and NB-IoT
  • Netherlands: Works with Vodafone NB-IoT SIM card and T-Mobile NB-IoT SIM card with UDP IP data connectivity
  • Spain: Works on Telefonica 2G network and Vodafone NB-IoT
  • Sweden: Sends data via HTTP on GSM network. Works on Telia, Tele2/Comviq and Hallon/tre on NB-IoT
  • Norway: Works on GSM network!
  • Taiwan: Works with local Taiwanese SIM card
  • Turkey: Connects to Turk Telekom 2G network with Hologram SIM card. Waiting for feedback on NB-IoT.
  • Germany: Works on NB-IoT with the 1NCE IoT SIM card and the Hologram SIM works on 2G ("Vodafone 2G network", but Telekom and O2 are also marked as available), and also with the Congstar Prepaid Wie ich will on 2G (APN="internet.telekom", user="congstar", pass="cs" and connected network is "Telekom 2G network"; Congstar is a subbrand of Telekom with cheaper prices but no LTE support)
  • Belgium: Works on the NB-IoT network with the orange.allthingstalk SIM card
  • Switzerland: Confirmed to work with "m2m for business SIM card (available only on request)" with APN "swisscom-test.m2m.ch". Connected networks: "Swisscom LTE CAT-M1 network" and "Swisscom NB-IoT network" (B20)

SIM7000C Version

  • Singapore: Works on LTE CAT-M1 with Telco SIM card

SIM7000G Version

This version should work in any place where the SIM7000A/C/E versions operate, but let's document it anyway!

  • United States: Works great on AT&T and T-Mobile LTE CAT-M1 networks, just like SIM7000A. Also can connect to GSM!
  • Canada: Works on the Rogers LTE-M network in Vancouver with the Hologram SIM card. 2G also works.
  • Australia: Works great on Telstra network
