This script can currently check for access for the following platforms/vendors:

  • Alexander Street Press
    • Ebooks as well as streaming media titles
  • Al Manhal
  • Apabi
  • Brepols (brepolsonline.net)
    • Ebooks. Should also work for journals at the issue level
  • Cambridge University Press (including Cambridge Histories Online)
  • Columbia International Affairs Online
  • Criterion on Demand (streaming video platform)
    • NOTE: My library no longer subscribes to this service, so I cannot vouch that this checker logic is up-to-date.
  • De Gruyter ebook platform
  • Digitalia ebooks
  • Duke University Press ebooks (on HighWire platform)
  • Early American Imprints (Readex)
    • Use of this is not recommended unless you have a very small set of titles to check. Readex blocked the IP of the staff member who was running the checker across the collection and complained --- that's the first time this had happened. They said their tech staff would be willing to work with me to develop a method for checking that wouldn't raise flags on their end, but that has been low on my to-do list.

  • LIterature ONline - LION (Proquest)
  • Oxford Bibliographies Online
    • Use of this one is not recommended for large numbers of URLs -- because of the way OBO works, the link to each bibliography loads to full content of that bibliography in the HTML source, so it probably looks to OUP like abuse. It is on my list to re-write this one so that it just checks the HTML headers and can report 404s and DOI errors.

    • Checks whether a record is present in the catalog
    • This will only be possibly useful to other TRLN libraries
  • Nineteenth Century Collections Online
    • Check for presence of "Related Volumes" section on an ebook landing page
    • Run on serials titles to prepare reports to send to vendor
  • Sabin Americana
    • Check for presence of "Other Volumes" link/section
    • Run on serials/multivolume monograph titles to prepare reports to send to vendor
