The FAVE toolkit (both FAVE-align and FAVE-extract) consists mostly of Python scripts. As such, you should download and install Python 2.x if you do not have it already. Mac users should not need to install Python: type
python --version in the Terminal to check that you have a current version of Python installed.
If not, here is a link to where you can download and install the version of Python 2.7.6 appropriate for your operating system. http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.7.6
