Gumble advanced ability revamp [bounty: 100 XTR] #2547
Comments
Hi @DreadKnight, Could you elaborate on how much will be the hexagon range before and after the upgrade? I am willing to work on this |
Heya! Let's say a 2 hexagon range (so there can be 1 hexagon distance to the target) so that it's not adjacent only. |
Ok, Thanks I got it. Yeah, this one is a little tricky, but I will give it a shot. |
Sure, will have a look into it |
Hi @DreadKnight, I wanted to ask, it might be a silly question but I had on my mind for months. So whats the difference b/w require, query and activate function |
Hey @codemaster321 I'm not the best at answering this stuff, but without investigsting I think require checks if everything needed is there (like energy points), query checks for specific stuff and activate turns on the ability 😆 but I might be way off... |
Aight, I got it, haha. |
Hi @DreadKnight, I'd few questions "Ability is usable on self." "The upgrade causes the ability to be usable on foes with a negative effect (-2 movement, no other stuff), only lasts 1 turn." |
Hey! Sure thing.
Indeed. The ability does cost energy, so it's a trade. We'll keep the cost from old ability, for now at least.
This is basically a 0 dmg attack that applies a debuff on the enemy which lasts one round, so when that unit becomes active, it will have 2 movement points less for that turn (even if delaying). If movement stat drops to 0, then the enemy is unable to move by itself unless using some movement related ability (that doesn't cost movement points to begin with). |
Hi @DreadKnight, Sorry I wasn't able to update since I'm busy preparing for exams. I applied all of upgrades by the new ability. But I'm getting stuck at an issue where when I apply the Pretty ribbon, all the surrounding enemies in all the adjacent hexagons receive the Pretty Ribbon. |
Royal Seal will get deprecated, reason is we got too many traps and not enough buffs/debuffs, plus wanted to revamp the ability in a way that it would be rather too similar to one of the upcoming units (Toxic Shroom).
New ability name:
Pretty Ribbon
Icon:
https://game-icons.net/1x1/delapouite/bow-tie-ribbon.html
(Style: stroke enabled with white color and 2 pixel width, no background)
Description:
Instantly heals a nearby allie and also buffs it for the remaining of the match.
Info:
20 heal, +2 regrowth & +2 endurance.
Upgrade:
-2 movement enemy debuff.
Notes:
Ability is usable on self.
The upgrade causes the ability to be usable on foes with a negative effect (-2 movement, no other stuff), only lasts 1 turn.
It can cause slow units not be able to move. Using this on a shielded enemy Dark Priest will trigger the Plasma Field (meaning -1 Plasma), hence it won't apply the debuff to slow.
The trap sprite (pinkish Mud Bath basically) can be safely removed from the game files along with the code for it (which is outside of the Gumble.js/.ts file).
