Gumble doesn't currently have the best flow/combo/utility, so it should get better defined with a make-over.

He should be a short range unit that charges into battle, being able to take quite a bit of physical damage, then popping back up to do it again or just go defensive role, supporting other units.

The passive ability should be highly boosted, making this unit a true masochist to physical pain.

The basic attack should throw candy up to a few hexagons, poking nearby enemies or feeding allies. The candy will bounce off enemies and remain on the ground. It will provide 10hp/energy.
The upgrade will shoot 2 extra candies on nearby rows. 3 hexagons range, works in 6 directions.

The advanced attack will be the current Gummy Mallet, but it will pick up stuff that it hits. Also, the upgrade will change to leaving gummy traps in the non-unit spots. Doesn't affect allies, as the gum as some sort of intelligence.

The ultimate will be Royal Seal, being able to respawn from 7 gummy traps that are in a circular shape. It ends current turn in order to avoid any sort of weirdness. Upgrade will allow for a less strict rule, allowing there to be less traps but respawning with 10 less health for each missing one.
