Import & Run Project

• Download the project
• Extract the contents of .zip in a folder
• Open Eclipse
• File -> Open Projects from File System -> Add existing folder by pressing 'Directory' -> Open -> Finish
• Run rest-project as a java application

Prepare Database

• Create a database with name 'rest_project'

CREATE DATABASE rest_project;

• Copy & run all the commands from file 'mysql commands' with the order they are shown

IMPORTANT
In order to connect the database with the application you must change the below properties in application.properties:

spring.datasource.username = YOUR_USERNAME
spring.datasource.password = YOUR_PASSWORD

Extras

Default server port: 9090
Swagger API Documentation link: http://localhost:9090/swagger-ui/index.html

If you get the following error when importing project:
"Description Resource Path Location Type org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-surefire-plugin:pom:2.22.2 failed to transfer from https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2 during a previous attempt. This failure was cached in the local repository and resolution is not reattempted until the update interval of central has elapsed or updates are forced. Original error: Could not transfer artifact org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-surefire-plugin:pom:2.22.2 from/to central (https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2): repo.maven.apache.org pom.xml /rest-project line 1 Maven Configuration Problem"

Please do these steps:

Right Click on your project: Run (As) -> Maven clean
Right Click on your project: Run (As) -> Maven install
