YelpCamp is a dynamic website which provides information about campgrounds
Checkout the old-code branch for node, express and ejs codebase
Requirements - Node.js, NPM
- install the required dependencies -
npm install - create an account at mlab.com and create a database with aws cloud us-east-1.
- copy and paste the generated database url to a .env file at the root folder of the application
DB_URL = mongodb://<dbuser>:<dbpassword>@ds111476.mlab.com:11476/<db_name>
BASE_URL = http://localhost:3000- create an account at cloudinary.com and create a folder called campgrounds. Copy/paste your cloudinary credentials to the .env file
DB_URL='mongodb://<dbuser>:<dbpassword>@ds111476.mlab.com:11476/<db_name>'
BASE_URL='http://localhost:3000'
cloud_name='<cloud_name_here>'
api_key='<api_key_here>'
api_secret='<api_secret>'- run the seeds file to create dummy data. -
npm run seed - now start the server -
npm start
- Open a new terminal window and move to the ui folder and install dependencies -
cd ui && npm install - create a
.envfile in the root ofui/and add the following inside it
REACT_APP_BASE_URL='http://localhost:8080'- start the server -
npm start
