Hi,

now with v1.13.3 I can connect the web os manager to my lg tv again, thanks.

unfortunately i try to install in example the youtube app and it is stalling and nothing happens.
if i go out it seems the complete connection is stalled and no menu area is working anymore.
only closing the web os manager and restarting it will solve this issue.

also under info -> install homebrew channel there is coming a "please wait" dialog and it is stalling here, too

Hi, did you try other apps? To install YouTube AdFree, you'll need to remove the original version.

As for hbchannel, I'll try reproduce.

Hi,

its ok for me after uninstall, thanks man.

However, I have the impression that auto-renewal automatically by url or shell script no longer works.
The "renew session" button still works though

ok nevermind.

it is working .. it only stalling long time. for around 10 minutes after pressing the "install" button for youtube, it shows this "please wait" dialog. And then after a while 10 to 20 minutes it was installed.

doing this now for the homebrew channel app . it seems it takes forever. .but still is finishing after long time

@lamdacore May I know what your network provider is? If it's taking time downloading, then it can be like this way.

it is normal t-online in germany. DSL 100 MBit or something. Download of the Web OS Manager installer goes fast enough with 4 MBytes/sec

may i suggest a progress bar or a status text like "downloading app..." or something?

@lamdacore Yes, and I'm working on that. It will be available in 2.x release (which will be in testing stage soon)

hi @lamdacore did you manage to fix this?

i am on webos 4.4.2, firmware 05.50 LG C8. i could install apps earlier from dev manager but my cron jobs would not work for some reason so dev mode would frequently get disabled. now trying to install apps again.

in latest version of dev manager i can connect to the tv in dev manager, it shows the tv info correctly but when i try to install any apps either the "install" button does not respond, or it does and remains stuck on "please wait" or after a while it just says "timeout". with v1.8 of dev manager which i was using earlier it says "please wait" for a few minutes then the popup closes but no apps are installed.

I have updated my C2 to the latest WebOS firmware.
After that, the connection no longer worked for me either.
My TV is somewhat restricted by the Internet. I have a Pi-Hole active on the network, which blocks LG's advertising and tracking servers.
I had to completely unblock the TV on the Internet (no Pi-Hole) so that it can pull all the remaining updates and I can then log into the developer app again.
Only after 2 restarts did the connection work again.

Tip of the day: With a LAN-USB-adapter, the TV thinks it is “offline”. However, apps continue to work. All installed apps were also not removed until I connected the TV to the network using the built-in LAN port.

Softwareversion: 13.30.56
WebOS 8.3.0-2301

Hi,

Same problem here. With new version of Developer app on the TV and WebOS manager app on my MacBook. The connection between 2 devices work but when clicking on any app "Install" button, nothing happens. Tried also to install homebrew channel, loading bar but timeout after some time. Tried to downgrade MacBook app version, restart the tv several times, uninstalled, installed back the developer app on the tv. Nothing worked.

Thanks for your help!

I experienced the same issue. Upgraded to 13.3 and I couldn't installed any apps. Clicking the install button would either have no response at all or the Please wait progress bar would show indefinitely, as the author shared.

Went back to 11.6 and it worked fine. Installed jellyfin and youtube ad free in a couple of seconds.

WebOS Dev Manager is getting worse release by release.

I am experiencing the same issue with not being able to install Apps from the Catalog. Directly installing the IPK files does also not work.

what is the problem?

Same problem here. For some reason the YouTube Adfree app gets automatically deleted every few months, but usually I can reinstall it just fine.

But now it connects, the "info" dialog work, but if I try to install something (Homebrew Channel) it freeze, then the info dialog also stop responding and print timeout. I've waiting for multiple minutes with no success.

I don't have a Pi-Hole, the TV is plugged wired, and I have a gigabyte internet connection.

I noticed the "remaining duration" label is empty, and on the TV it says 999h59m. I also noticed that the "key server" button disable itself as soon as I close the Developer Mode app, which I don't remember it doing that before.

I tried extending the session, clearing the cache data and logging again, nothing works.

EDIT: LOL I checked at my own screenshot after posting and realize that it actually did finish by installing after freezing twice! It probably took 15-20 minutes or so.

Yea same here tried older versions and they too do not work, waiting on the "please wait" just results in a "timed out" error. Cannot remember which version I used last that let me install stuff.

I have exactly the same issue.

many thanks to @justafren : downgrading to 11.6 works like a charm, every app installs in seconds.

Just downgraded to 11.6 too and it's working perfectly.
