I put my TV Wired Ip adress, then the passphrase on the manager click finish and "please wait" pops, wait a couple of seconds and eventually the failed to fetch private key screen pops up, I look at my TV and its Key server is still on. How can I fix this please?

It just occurred to me, earlier I tried the root my.tv method and it didn't work (it restarted as usual but didn't install homebrew application) hence why I got to here. Could this be the cause?

Hi, are you able to ping the TV from your computer?

OK. So this means your computer can access the TV.

What about accessing http://IP:9991/webos_rsa with your browser?

This means the "Key Server" was not turned on properly. Did you turn the dev mode on, and wait for it to reboot?

Yes it rebooted and dev mode stays on even after turning off the TV, the "Key Server" doesnt tho, I turn it on and it stays on but if I turn off the TV and check it again it's always OFF

Key server is off by default and will be off if rebooted. When you turn key server on, you need to leave the TV as is and continue the setup procedure on the computer. If you still seeing errors, that probably means something wrong happened on Developer mode app side.

I'd suggest:

  1. Turn developer mode off, then uninstall the developer mode app.
  2. Reset the TV if that doesn't work.

OK I had uninstalled it and installed again (The credentials and Dev was still ON) didn't work, then I did like you said first turn OFF and then reinstall the app and it worked. Thank you for the fast help and for developing such tools, my world with Smart TVs has not been what I have expected but you made it a little more brighter👌

Had the same problem. This method helped me too! Thank you very much!
Hat bei mir auch geholfen, vielen Dank für den Tipp!
