We have 2MB of flash at our disposal. In reality much less space will be available (~1.5MB?) but it's still enough to hold 1 or 2 homebrew apps. KunaiGC will come with LFS support which is being added to Swiss at the moment. This creates opportunity to also take advantage of Little FS and make Pico flash accessible as a block device.

This is not in any way crucial nor that terribly useful as you'd still use SD card adapter for pretty much every homebrew: you need it to store roms or extra files for GBI somewhere.

I have no more thoughts on that and I don't think this is a top priority for PicoBoot, more like "nice to have" feature. I've put it in v2.0 milestone for now but it may go even further in the timeline.

Since it connects to EXI, maybe it can use the Memory Card protocol? I think games wouldn't be able to access it (wrong address/bus), but that should be a fairly trivial patch; if nothing else, homebrew can easily be modified to treat it as a "Slot C".
