Document details for 'alternative' time zone names

Please provide more details about the 'alternative' time zone names in the documentation. Specifically, I'm interested in how name clashes are handled. e.g. Australia, Canada, Indonesia and the United States all have 'Eastern Time' and 'Central Time', and the majority of these countries also have 'Standard Time' and 'Daylight Time' for each of those time zones.
