Whenever I try to open an existing file.md typora shows a fixed document that seems to be the rendered contents of /Applications/Typora.app/Contents/Resources/TypeMark/index.html
instead of the rendered contents of file.md.
The document cannot be edited, nor is there a way to add contents to this fixed document.
switching to source mode does not help either.
Same behaviour when I try to create a new document.
This unexpected behaviour seems to have started after I mistakenly used Typora to open this file : /Applications/Typora.app/Contents/Resources/TypeMark/index.html
Is there a way to go back to normal? I guess some configuration file has been corrupted.
Should I completely remove typora, and all typora configuration files, then reinstall from scratch as indicated here: https://support.typora.io/Trouble-Shooting/ ?
To Reproduce
Possible cause of the problem:
Open /Applications/Typora.app/Contents/Resources/TypeMark/index.html with Typora. From now on this document is referred to by the shortcut index.html
Close the document and quit Typora
After that
3. Open Typora : You see the rendered contents of index.html instead of an empty markdown file. The document cannot be edited, nor is there a way to add contents to this fixed document.
4. Switch to source mode : same behaviour (you still see the rendered contents of index.html instead of an empty file or the source html)
5. Open an existing markdown file, say file.md : You see the rendered contents of index.html instead of the contents of file.md. The document cannot be edited, nor is there a way to add contents to this fixed document.
6. Switch to source mode : same behaviour (you still see the rendered contents of index.html instead of the source file.md or the source html)
Expected behavior
3. I should see an empty markdown document that can be edited
4. I should see an empty markdown document that can be edited in source mode
5. I should see the rendered contents of file.md
6. I should see the markdown source of file.md
