A way to make a counterpoint to a "Note not needed" note without that becoming visible #147

Community Member A makes an original note A on a post

Community Member B makes a "note not needed" note B on the same post, making his case why the note A should be voted down.

Community Member C or original member A wants to make a counterpoint to B ( let this counterpoint be called C ), stating why the note is needed or why the counterpoint B is false/irrelevant.

Currently there's no proper place to post Note C. If you post it in the Notes section, people might vote to make it visible. But what you're actually arguing for is to keep A visible. So all votes on my note C should be going to note A that I quoted.

Feature:

This could be solved with a reply option for Notes, atleast NNN notes, that shows those replies under the NNN note.

Can confirm, this is already causing people to misunderstand the "why this post needs no further context" section as: let me write this down why the above note is not required/wrong/etc.
Interaction with other voters and note-contributors is essential. There were already so many notes where I would have been able to point the original author to better sources and give feedback on how to enhance the written note by a few words or a single sentence. Also sometimes the written note is correct but there is a better source for qualification. We need a way to communicate that. Maybe reddit thread style or something. Tho it needs to be clean, not taking much unnecessary space an a word limit tighter than a usual twitter comment.

Edit: Maybe a way to contact the original author without the interaction of others would be even more helpful. Basically a small conversation between only you and the author w/o others to leave links to sources or hints for enhancements.

Came to post the same kind of proposal. Unfortunate it's nearly a year old at this point...

Add a way to leave a reply on Note Not Needed submissions, that's all that's really needed.
It should give a notification to the original creator of the Note Not Needed, so that other community members can help educate on proper usage.

Currently, people incorrectly using notes, especially NNN people, have no real mechanism to correct them of their ways, since there's no major penalty for a bad NNN, and even if there is a penalty, they aren't going to understand why they were wrong in any way.

So we absolutely need a way to reply, it would greatly improve the health of the notes system.
