User Description

Export/Export game.xml file does not work.

This is very bad for map-making because TripleA currently does not offer a way to regenerate the starting set-up data (for example, the unit inizialize), so opening the game and editing the set-up and thereafter exporting the XML is the best way to do such things and certainly a lot faster than writing the XML file manually (beside the fact that XML files are not supposed to be written directly to start with).

Please fix this problem.

Actually, the error I got was:

Error writing game data to XML: null

JAXBException

FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files\TripleA_prerelease[...] (Accesso negato)

I've thus realized that the XML exporter actually works, and the problem was a matter of priviledges (to save within the "Programs" folder), so I instead saved on the desktop and it all went fine.

Since I think this can be a widespread problems amongst those using the export function (likely most map-makers), I suggest the file being saved elsewhere as default (likely inside the "User/.../triplea" folder). Besides, I'd say that it does not make sense to save such things in "Programs" to start with.

Regardless, if someone wants to tell me exactly what I have to do to give myself enough priviledges for this function to work on the default folder, I would like to test it. Thank you.

#11756 will default to a better folder.
