General grants and awards for Women pursuing graduate school in STEM fields and/or Post Doctoral Research grants and scholarships and fellowships for women graduates interested in pursuing higher education in CS research and/or graduate studies at Universities around the world.


Alphabetical listing of awards for international and national scholarships, fellowships and grants for women graduates studying STEM, or pursuing education and research in Universities.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Pass-It-On Awards Open to women ALL over the world. APPLY HERE!
  • Toptal Scholarships For Female Developers Open to women ALL over the world. Application Link
  • AAUW :: The AAUW International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported.
  • DAAD :: The German Academic Exchange Service or DAAD (German: Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) awards competitive, merit-based grants (to people of all genders, from any country) for use toward study and/or research in Germany at any of the accredited German institutions of higher education. It also awards grants to German students, doctoral students, and scholars for studies and research abroad.
  • Facebook Fellowship Program - 2015-2016 Academic Years :: The Fellowship Program is open to full-time PhD students (domestic and international, covering the 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years) enrolled during the current academic year(s) and studying computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system architecture, or a related area.
  • Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship :: A scholarship for female undergraduate and graduate students who will each receive a financial award for the academic year.
  • The Anita Borg Institute Women of Vision ABIE Awards :: A $1,000 award for women studying computer science with a unique vision of making a difference in technology through innovation or inspiration.
  • Graduate Women's Scholarship Program :: The Microsoft Research Graduate Women’s Scholarship is a one-year scholarship program for outstanding women graduate students and is designed to help increase the number of women pursuing a PhD.
  • HP Helion OpenStack scholarship :: A special program for college women pursuing a career in technology that awards four female candidates a scholarship of $10,000 USD each, plus mentorship and potential internship possibilities in the future.
  • IBM PhD Research Awards :: The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program is an intensely competitive worldwide program, which honors exceptional Ph.D. students who have an interest in solving problems that are important to IBM and fundamental to innovation in many academic disciplines and areas of study.
  • List of Scholarships that accept applications from International Students at various American Universities.
  • The Scholarship Connection Website from the University of California, Berkeley, maintains a database of information on scholarships that are funded by sources outside the University. While these listings are not restricted to women, so you will need to spend some time searching for scholarships of interest to you.

Doctoral Fellowships

  • DETAILS:: The Santa Fe Institute seeks interdisciplinary post-doctoral scientists for the SFI Omidyar Fellowship. Candidates from any country, any discipline, and women and members of under-represented groups are encouraged to apply via their website form.
  • DATES:: 2015/AUG/10 - 2015/NOV/01
  • ELIGIBILITY:: A PhD in any discipline (completed by September 2016).
  • PERIOD:: Up to three years beginning summer/fall 2016.

SCHOLARSHIPS by NATIONALITY

USA

Fellowships restricted to American women only (citizens or permanent residents)
  • Silicon Valley Bank Scholars Fund makes $50,000 available for Latinos learning computer programming and data science at Galvanize. Prospective students interested applying for this scholarship can visit galvanize.com/scholarsfund.
  • Open Science Data Cloud's NSF Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE) summer fellowships in data intensive scientific cloud computing. A Birds of a Feather about the fellowship at SC14, New Orleans!
  • Aspirations awards is run by NCWIT.
  • Box Engineering Diversity Scholarship :: Scholarships to support you as you pursue a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Five scholarships will be awarded to female and minority students who are applying technology to their fields. Must be a US citizen.
  • Delphix Technology's second annual $5K programming scholarship for Women in Technology is open to currently enrolled full-time women college students pursuing a technical degree such as computer science, mathematics, information technology, electrical engineering, or applied mathematics, who will still be full-time college students enrolled in 2015.
  • Intel Fellowships :: are provided to outstanding PhD students in Engineering, Computer Science, Social Science, and other technical related majors focusing on semiconductor and high tech computing technologies at selected U.S. universities.
  • Minority PostDoc :: Scholarships and funding resources for current and future postdoctoral researchers, grants and scholarships for research project funding for women, WOC (women of colour) and minorities.
  • Palantir Scholarship for Women in Engineering supports women pursuing technical study and beginning careers in technology. They offer scholarships to advance women interested in the study of computer science, engineering, and related disciplines.
  • P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship offers loans, grants and scholarships to women who are citizen of the United States or Canada.
  • Rockefeller Foundation :: Their grants focus on the intersection of four key areas – advance health, revalue ecosystems, secure livelihoods, and transform cities.
  • Society of Women Engineers :: Their scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited baccalaureate or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States and Mexico.
Scholarships open to any American Citizen
  • Dell Scholars Program :: They provide their students with resources and mentoring beyond initial financial assistance to ensure they have the support they need to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
  • Gates Millenium Scholars Foundation :: They select 1,000 talented students each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice.
  • HP Scholarship Program :: They offer scholarship opportunities to underrepresented minority (African American, Latino, or American Indian) students who will pursue a bachelor's of science degree in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering at an HP Scholar partnership university (UCLA, SJSU, North Carolina A&T, Morgan State, and University of Washington).
