Android: Passcode Lock versus Biometrics Lock

On the Android app, we have two ways of locking the app: Passcode Lock and Biometrics Lock.

I understand that Passcode Lock is also used to locally encrypt notes, but does Biometrics Lock offer the same security feature? Or does it only locks access to the app interface? Is there any advantage in having both on at the same time?
