Display of muted/blocked posts needs to be consistent and more useful

Currently muted users show up in my Home feed w/o any indication that they're muted when my follows reply to them. But when I open that thread - I get a warning that it contains muted users, but after clicking through it posts from them are simply missing with no way to show them.

I find the way twitter handled this to be quite useful: individual posts are simply replaced by a corresponding message, with an option to show the post if applicable.
