Work on TriliumNext
I've first started as a user of TriliumNotes back in January 2022 and have kept using it since. In the meantime, I contributed a few bugfixes to it. In January 2024, the original maintainer announced that the project will transition to maintenance mode and I was determined to not let the application fade into memory. With a few people we created an organization and have started to contribute to the future of Trilium, TriliumNext Notes.
Most of my work in TriliumNext is alongside:
- Worked on adding support for multiple languages.
- Developing a more modern theme, with the help of my brother.
- Modernizing the layout, by reducing clutter and allowing more options (for example moving the launch bar at the top).
- Support for more platforms and installation methods (for example I introduced the Windows installer).
- User experience improvements such as syntax highlighting inside text notes.
- Mobile improvements.
- Various bugfixes.
On a more technical note:
- Kept the application up to date with the latest versions of the libraries.
- Set up a continuous integration and delivery system.
- Porting the server (and in the future, the client) to TypeScript for better maintenance.
A chart of my contributions to the project can be found here: https://github.com/TriliumNext/Notes/graphs/contributors
Other contributions
Apart from TriliumNext, I am also a fan and user of NixOS and I've contributed to a few packages.
