16 bits version what is the data word length ?

Thank you for the project, excellent work.
Just for my knowledge, can you tell me if the 16bits version of Squeezelite is using a 32bits frame DATA word or a a 64bits frame ?
32bits frame has the advantage of lower clock, lower EMI, lower DAC intrinsic jitter but has the limitation of no LMS volume control without loosing data.
