Volume and sustain on sfizz_jack

Hi,
I have started tinkering with sfizz_jack from the command line and have a couple of questions:

1. In the manual there's no command to change the volume or gain. Can that be achieved with some command or it's simply not possible outside a plugin manager?
2. I have been playing some libraries that have pedal up/pedal down samples. When I use sfizz in carla they work fine. But when I use sfizz_jack, the sustain continues even after I lift the pedal. Is there a way to fix this behavior?

EDIT: The sustain issue solved itself changing the SFZ file. My bad.
EDIT: A workaround is to add:

volume=20
to the SFZ file (20 is arbitrary of course)
