I can't reproduce it. I have created

locally a test1 application and added secretProps to change the theme and works
locally a test2 application with flag external and added secretProps to change the theme and works
workspace a test1 application and added secretProps to change the theme and works
workspace a test2 application with flag external and added secretProps to change the theme and works
