Leave it as it is for the double-sided printed documents.
For online-only documents, add \geometry{left=1.5cm}, same for right. Do not use any of oneside, twoside options, comment out textwidth in the class file. Modify fancyhdr accordingly.

Final solution:

  • add class option printed, that uses twoside, geometry with hmarginratio=3:2, alternating fancyhdr and slightly lager horizontal margins, suitable for printing
  • add class option online, that uses neither of oneside, twoside, geometry with left=1.5cm, right=1.5cm and non-alternating fancyhdr, suitable for online documents
