Incorporate Zeroconf/DNS-SD (also known as Bonjour, Rendezvous) to discover and show devices on the network.

Thunar on Xfce does e.g., shows and is able to access Samba, SSH, and SFTP devices.

There are different implementations, with Avahi being the default on most desktops.
