When connecting a non-Dutch organization (like UHasselt, Turing Way) we often get the question if organization maintainers can manage their own ORCID users. Going though us for every new user is a bit of a hassle.
I see three potential solutions to this:
indeed allow any ORG maintainer to add users by ORCID (how to handle duplicates? deletions? etc.)
use something like eduGAIN for international ORGs?
make it easier to connect individual organizations using whatever identity provider they user (like azure?)
What would be the pro's and con's of each option?
