Package scad-box provides an OpenSCAD module for creating boxes, including boxes with rounded corners.
It does this by exposing a box()
module.
The box()
is designed to feel similar to the built-in cube()
module.
For example:
box();
box(2);
box([1,2,3]);
box(size=5, center=true);
module box(size = [1,1,1], center = false, edge_radius = 0.1)
Here are some examples of box()
being used.
Creates a box with rounded corners, with the width, height, and depth all equal to 1, with an edge-radius of 0.1.
box();
Creates a box with rounded corners, with the width, height, and depth all equal to 5, with an edge-radius of 0.1.
box(5);
Creates a box with rounded corners, with the width, height, and depth equal to 1, 2, and 3 respectively, with an edge-radius of 0.1.
box([1,2,3]);
Creates a box with rounded corners, with the width, height, and depth all equal to 1, with an edge-radius of 0.1, centered on the origin.
box(center=true);
Creates a box with rounded corners, with the width, height, and depth all equal to 1, with a edge-radius of 0.2.
box(edge_radius=0.2);
A demo is included with this package, in the demos/demo.scad
file.
To view the demo, open demos/demo.scad
in OpenSCAD.
To use this package, first checkout this repository into the root of your project, using code similar to:
git clone https://github.com/reiver/scad-box github.com/reiver/scad-box
This will create the directories:
github.com/
github.com/reiver
github.com/reiver/scad-box
And place the OpenSCAD code for this package into that directory.
And then to make use of this code in one of your projects files, add a use
statement similar to:
use <github.com/reiver/scad-box/use.scad>
Note, if you are in a sub-directory of your project, you may need to climb up directories; for example:
use <../github.com/reiver/scad-box/use.scad>
Or:
use <../../github.com/reiver/scad-box/use.scad>
Etc.
