Async storage -> Sync storage (new archetecture)

I am curious, since very shortly the new architecture in react native is becoming the default, and the new architecture removes the async bridge between native code and JS, I am wondering if there is a possibility to make this library work synchronously in the JS vs async? Correct me if this is a dumb question lol I don't have a great knowledge of that native aspect of react native. If a synchronous version was possible and viable it would greatly simplify the implementation of storing and receiving items.
