qBittorrent version and Operating System:

v3.3.11, Linux (Peppermint)

If on linux, libtorrent and Qt version:

Qt 5.5.1, Libtorrent 1.0.11.0, Boost 1.58.0

What is the problem:

When filtering content one should be able to uncheck/check only filtered items.
As of now, "Select none" will also uncheck items thats not included in the filter.

What is the expected behavior:

Only filtered content gets unchecked / checked

Steps to reproduce:

DL a torrent with multiple files, content
Filter out a selection of the content
Try to uncheck all the filtered items, in one operation. Impossibru.

Extra info(if any):

This might not be a feature yet. If it's not, this is more of a feature request I guess.

Yeah this is something that has been irritating me often too when I want to clean up messy torrents that contain a bunch of scrap files on top of the ones I want.

Was really "fun" when I first tried it and filtered only the ones I wanted gone and then unchecked the root folder which due to the filtering only showed these files in it and it still unckecked the whole torrent anyways :<

It might be clearer to say "add the ability to check/unchecked the filtered result only".
I want it too.
It's very time consuming when there are many folders containing *.mp4, *.jpg, thumbs.db, *.txt, and u only want the *.mp4

I am on windows...

Now I select all filtered files: click on 1st, then Shift + End, then Space to select only filtered, but GUI control will be cool too...

May I also suggest to filter group/s of types of files?
For example, select/de-select all video files (mp4, wmv, mkv,...) .
It could also be nice to have the filter remember what we wrote in it before.

Should I create new request/s about this?

I've had large torrents with a lot of subfolders where this issue has been very, very, very frustrating, and I have been forced to use another client.

I still remember how happy I was when I when I first tried qbittorrent and discovered this filter function, and then the dismay and empty feeling when I realized how it worked. I felt cheated.

I can appreciate the frustration, but qBittorrent is an open source project made by hobbyists. If you want a feature then expressing your frustration with them probably isn't going to help.

Maybe you mistook frustration for anger.
A large portion of all feature requests that has ever been made for every single application or piece of software has some degree of frustration in it. I would say it's obvious that the more people explain their needs for certain features the more likely it is for developers spending time on it. I fully trust and respect the developers ability to prioritize, but many people, also developers, sometimes doesn't have insight in why a certain functionality is needed.
