via conversation with @sofroniewn:
The range slider currently lets you "symmetrically" adjust (around some center point). by option-scrolling. but that doesn't work great for touchpad scrolling. Perhaps an option-drag feature to drag symettrically?

Seems like pinch would be the perfect gesture for trackpads here? 😃
