q-fade

Upset your DJ friends and mash dem down with this attractive, open source 8-in, 2-out crossfader. Low skill Multi-deck mixmasterdom awaits. May also have ambient applications, definitely has some silly ones (64 stage Quetzalcoatl vector sequence? 32 Oi, Grandad! layers for your live electro-acoustic show?).

Features:

  • 8 channel crossfader with smoothing and multiple fade algorithms

  • Filter, EQ and granular FX allowing for different values per stage

  • Per stage pan

  • 2x DAW syncable modulators with table, "sequencer" and LFO modes

Q-Fade is deigned to live on master, or bus channels. As Q-Fade has 8 input channels, it is not suitable for use with all DAWs. Q-fade is known to work in with the following software:

  • Reaper (some pre-configured projects are included)

  • Ableton Live (see pinned comment here) Thanks to David Monroy for the tip.

  • Element (As both a plugin AND a host, Element is an excellent choice for those working in any DAW that doesn't allow for multi-input FX). Just fire up an instance of Element and load Q-Fade within that. Thanks to N.K Turley for the tip.)

Please note that Q-Fade is in the early stages of development, there will be bugs and currently the Audiounit version isn't working.
