I found I can connect but in about 2 minutes, although it stays connected it doesn't let me load the pi.local web site in Firefox or Chrome. The above link seems to say it's a certificate issue?

But that a self signed cert could work?

Hmm, maybe sounds like this too although no solution offered https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/157649/undoing-use-network-as-is-for-wifi-connection-on-secured-network
