currently the known_layers.json file is generated separately from running ociv.
I have a hacky script with internal details that pulls in the info from a zot reg and updates the local json file.
Ideally just running ociv with the name of a registry to connect to would allow it to query for known tags of a given hash (or set of hashes).
I'm not aware of any registry that has an API call like that, although maybe zot's search plugin would get us there.
