The next version of Debian will remove GTK 2 and libgnomecanvas.

To keep petri-foo in the repository, libgnomecanvas should be removed and be replaced by libcairo:

Deprecation of libgnomecanvas has been announced in 2009:

I have decided to move to goocanvas, as the API looks similar to gnomecanvas.
