Benefits of yarn? If none, let's get rid of it?!

Why is Yarn used in the first place, what are the benefits? Should we just get rid of unnecessary dependencies? npm should be enough.

I think the only reason we use yarn is the fact that Signal uses yarn, so I would suggest to get rid of it, unless there are good reasons to use yarn?
