It's possible that the issue is caused by the name of your HTML file not being set as the default file for your website on GitHub Pages. To set the default file, you can create a new file called .htaccess in the root directory of your website, and add the following line to it:
Replace "yourfile.html" with the name of your HTML file. This should make it so that when someone visits your website URL, the default file that's displayed is your HTML file. |

I am a new developer and could use some help uploading my test website with github pages!
When I click the link to go to my site I get a 404 error.
The only way to see the site is to manually type the name of my html file after the URL created by github in the search bar.
Is there any way around this?
