If it was a previous username that belonged to you, you could try contacting Support. If the account did not belong to you, there's little you can do. Note: Inactive does not necessarily mean its not being used, may be just set to private. |

Sadly, @linuxlawson is correct. While support used to cater to active developers & orgs, these days under MS, it's a different story. The username squatting policy doesn't actually get enforced for inactive orgs or accounts. |
