That's definitely not normal, impossible to guess what may be going on without seeing the log, though. The only "normal" reason for endless queuing would be if you use self-hosted runners and those are offline. 😅 You might want to send a bug report to GitHub support, so they can take a look: https://support.github.com/contact/bug-report |

Hi All,
I'm using Actions for the first time yesterday on 2022-12-01. I followed the Actions quick start guide found here: https://docs.github.com/en/actions/quickstart. I used the Yaml file verbatim. My job took over an hour to get picked up by a runner. I searched for "github actions long queue times" to discover a couple threads mentioning this problem. I didn't see any current thread, nor anything wrong on the GH status page.
I went on to develop a few stages of my pipeline and tried again ~10 hours later. My job was stuck again in queue. I went to bed and this morning the job has now been in queue for 16 hours.
So I'm just slightly befuddled here. Is there currently an issue with Actions? Is this the normal behavior? Is there a difference between the free and paid tiers when it comes to queue times? I'm just at a loss considering the explosive popularity of Actions. So far I'm not sure if it works at all, and if so if the user experience will be up to my expectations. On CircleCi, when I push, my job starts almost immediately.
