Not really, some software really doesn't like being installed anywhere. In the default location CI runs a lot of checks for that (and still doesn't catch all). Locally you probably won't

More like: you have python 3.8 installed and the software picks that as python3 and now it doesn't work since it depends on python 3.12.

According to SMillerDev, there are lot's of problems when building from source. So how can MacPorts fix this?
