[sharebymail] mailto: link does not contain the email

Yours is not a mail share, this is a link share. They are not exactly the same.

sure, this works the moment, you create the share, but when the share is already created, there is a button in the list, "share to email" which does not contain the email from the share.

Indeed, if the email exists, the link should most likely contains the email already

Hi, same problem.
After enter a valid email and validate the sharing :

1. no mail received since the last nextcloud update (no error in logs) (if i use a user's email, the mail is receive, If i use an external mail (yahoo, google, outlook), no mail received)
2. the "share by mail" not use the mail previously enter ... use no email, the mailto is empty

Creating an email share will cause Nextcloud to send an email on your behalf, AFAIK. This app only adds a link to send a public share link to an email yourself. Thus you have to enter the e-mail address yourself.

@marcelklehr this issue is about using the email from the share in the "send email" link.
So that you don't have to type it again in your mail client if it already exists in the nc share 😊
